Bookmobile Routes & Schedule
The Excellence Library Bookmobile is a retrofitted 32-foot custom mobile library that brings free book lending, Wi-Fi hotspot access, literacy program registration, and reading tutor consultations directly to underserved Columbus neighborhoods. The bookmobile carries over 3,000 titles spanning all age groups and reading levels, refreshed monthly by our acquisitions team. No library card is required to borrow materials from the bookmobile; all we ask is that books are returned at any bookmobile stop within four weeks.

3,000+ Books
Picture books, early readers, chapter books, young adult fiction, adult novels, nonfiction, and large print titles. Bilingual selections in Spanish and Somali.
Free Wi-Fi
High-speed wireless internet access while the bookmobile is at your stop. Connect personal devices or use one of our four onboard tablet stations.
Reading Tutors
Volunteer reading tutors ride the bookmobile on select routes and are available for 15-minute one-on-one reading sessions, book recommendations, and program enrollment.

Schedule Notes
- • Routes operate year-round except during severe weather alerts issued by Franklin County Emergency Management.
- • Holiday schedule: closed on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
- • Books may be returned at any bookmobile stop, not just the stop where they were borrowed.
- • No overdue fines. We use a trust-based return system to eliminate financial barriers.
- • Reading tutors are available at stops #1, #4, #7, #10, #13, and #16 (one tutor per stop).

We evaluate requests based on community need, accessibility, and route logistics. Stops require a paved parking area that can accommodate a 32-foot vehicle, access to restroom facilities, and a minimum commitment of 10 regular visitors per stop.
